The Winnipeg Blue Bombers have the four players they selected in the 2009 CFL Canadian college draft under contract.
Offensive linemen Mike Morris and Adam Bestard, running back Peter Quinney and linebacker Thaine Carter all signed deals with the CFL club.
Winnipeg made the six-foot-four, 305-pound Morris, from the University of British Columbia, its first selection in the third round, 19th overall. The Bombers then took Bestard, a six-foot-five, 290-pound lineman from Wilfrid Laurier, in the fourth round (35th overall).
Quinney, a six-foot-one, 220-pound running back from Laurier, was taken in the fifth round (35th overall) before Winnipeg selected Carter from Queen’s with the 45th overall selection.
“We are pleased to get these four young men signed and on to our roster,” Bombers head coach Mike Kelly said in a statement. “I know that they are quality players that will come in and be very competitive in training camp.”
